Spring Cleaning For Your Business

4/7/2020 (Permalink)

You know your business to get cluttered and dirty during the wet months of fall and winter, and a good spring cleaning is a great way to brighten and freshen your organization as we move into the warmer months. Today we would like to share a few tips to help you spring clean your business.

Furniture. Move out furniture and items that will be in the way of vacuuming, scrubbing, and carpet cleaning. This is a good time to rearrange your floor plan to maximize your use of space, too.

Flooring. Vacuuming, sweeping, and carpet cleaning are all important steps to restoring your business to a clean and healthy environment. As you complete these projects, you can check for damage, mold, and pests. Make lists of what you find and schedule repairs and remediation accordingly.

Sanitize. Make sure all computers, desks, and appliances are properly sanitized and cleaned. This can prevent germs and illness from spreading to employees and around the business.

Surfaces often forgotten when doing daily cleaning procedures, such as doorknobs, window frames, mop handles, and brooms, should all be wiped down.

Restrooms. Bathroom facilities, such as countertops, sinks, restroom walls, toilets, and floors should be sanitized and cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis. Taking the time to break everything down, replace malfunctioning fixtures, and deeply sanitize your restrooms can be part of your spring cleaning plan. It is also an optimum time to have the caulking around the toilets and sinks re-done to improve and support the seals.

Dust. An important part of the deep spring cleaning process is making sure that those areas often ignored will get cleaned thoroughly. The dust in areas such as under furniture, inside storage spaces, and around appliances, for example, can build up over time and can be unhealthy for both your customers and your workforce.
