SERVPRO Supports the Home Fire Awareness Campaign, Nashville!

10/7/2016 (Permalink)

Check your smoke alarms monthly and practice your 2-minute fire drills at home, including an escape plan.

SERVPRO is proud to support the American Red Cross and their month-long Home Fire Awareness Campaign. This month, we recognize the two-year anniversary of an important initiative to reduce deaths and injuries from home fires, which is the disaster Red Cross responds to most frequently every year.  As the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign reaches this significant milestone, the Red Cross and community partners have already saved at least 111 lives, and have made at-risk communities from coast-to-coast stronger and safer by installing more than 473,000 smoke alarms, replacing more than 32,000 batteries and creating nearly 170,000 escape plans.

In recognition of Fire Prevention Week (October 9-15) and the campaign anniversary, the Red Cross will focus  efforts on raising awareness about fire safety nationwide, and by canvassing local communities to install smoke alarms in homes that need them. They also spend time teaching people about what they can do now to be prepared should a fire break out in their home. Throughout the month, the Red Cross will be talking about the Home Fire Campaign our social media, through email and digital marketing, and via celebrity ambassadors.

Nashville, we invite you to align with these important and visible messages of fire safety and join us in promoting two important life-saving calls to action: 1) check your smoke alarms monthly, and 2) practice your 2-minute fire drills at home, including an escape plan. We want to ensure all of our neighbors know what to do in the event a fire emergency happens at home. Make sure your family and friends have a plan as well.
